ExperimentalDESCRIPTION
Scrawl is a conceptual horror film that imagines a world where life becomes small and survival becomes increasingly uncertain. Inspired by classic films featuring giant insects and stories told from a microscopic perspective, the project explores scale, suspense, and vulnerability through the experience of a young boy navigating an environment that has suddenly become much larger and more threatening.
The poster translates this concept through photography, dramatic scale, composition, and visual hierarchy to create a sense of tension while hinting at the film’s narrative. Developed during the sophomore year of the graphic design program, Scrawl became an early exploration of how fundamental design principles can shape visual storytelling. Through image-making, typography, and composition, the project demonstrates how a single poster can establish atmosphere, communicate a narrative, and build intrigue without revealing the entire story.
