DESCRIPTION
Stemming from a series of material studies and their digital transformations, this mixed-media project explores how physical experimentation can develop into a time-based narrative. Moving between physical and digital formats, the project uses material, movement, and transformation to communicate a story centered on personal struggle, reflection, and growth.

In Sticky Situations explores what it means to navigate circumstances that challenge personal limits and complicate our understanding of ourselves. The narrative follows a gradual shift from self-doubt and resistance toward reassurance, empowerment, and acceptance. Rather than escaping discomfort, the project considers what can happen when we confront the parts of ourselves we may have learned to question, suppress, or reshape in order to fit expectations. Through perseverance and self-reflection, adversity becomes less of an obstacle to overcome and more of a space for understanding, embracing change, and growing more comfortable in one’s own identity.

MIXED MEDIA PROCESS
Working in mixed media explored how to work with materials and examined hands-on media approaches to ultimately orchestrate a message in a video. Transforming physical media into digital scanning and sequencing has not only been eye-opening but also enlightening as this project dives into dynamic design-making.

MATERIAL STUDIES
From plastic and textures to letter-making and honey, this research on materials emphasized the creative approaches of using physical formats to spread a message that explores form-making.

Inspired by the use of honey and monochromatic coloring, this influenced the style and content creation of the time-based narrative.
